There is no one like Bollywood Shahenshah Amitabh Bachchan in Indian cinema. Apart from ruling Bollywood and obviously Indian cinema for a good part of three decades, he turned a new leaf and has reinvented himself as a character lead actor. A sort of position that’s virtually unheard of. He’s still commanding the same respect and offers as the current day superstars.
Now, it seems that Amitabh who’s currently busy with multiple pan-India projects, wants to do a small scale film with a lot of scope to show his wide range of emotions. As per our close sources who are usually reliable, Amitabh may reinterpret the role essayed by the legendary South Indian singer SP Balasubrahmanyam in the Tollywood film Mithunam which is based on a literary work by Sriramana (Telugu writer of repute).
Tanikella Bharani who directed the original Telugu version, is enthusiastic of presenting the beloved classic in Hindi with Amitabh and Rekha as the lead couple. Whether this project materialises is up for speculations but Amitabh is said to have expressed a strong interest in the subject. Bharani is currently taking his next directorial work with K. Raghavendra Rao to the sets. Directing Amitabh is a dream for him. We wish this film gets a go-ahead from Amitabh and Rekha.
