As the Indian Premier League season 10, 2017 gets underway Bollywood filmmakers hold back their films from releasing. While the IPL fever is slowly and steadily gripping the nation one can seldom see movies getting any importance released in this period of time unless and until it’s a ‘Baahubali’ kind of movie. Looking back at last year’s Bollywood movies released during IPL, none of them performed as expectedly. This year it looks like some Bollywood movies are set to repeat the same and release their films during IPL 10. So, which are those flicks which dare to clash with IPL? Let’s find out for ourselves.

  1. Begum Jaan (14 April)

Vidya Balan’s ‘Begum Jaan’ would probably be the first big film to clash with IPL 10 this year. A remake of the superhit Bengali film 'Rajkahini', ‘Begum Jaan’ is set during India’s partition period where a brothel run by prostitutes lying on the border has to be demolished. Starring Naseeruddin Shah, Gauhar Khan and Mishti, the film is directed by Srijit Mukherji and produced by Vishesh Films.

  2. Noor (21 April)

Sonakshi Sinha’s ‘Noor’ directed by debutant, Sunhil Sippy will release during the IPL 10. Adapted from author Saba Imtiaz’s book titled 'Karachi You're Killing Me' has Sonakshi playing the titular role where she’s trying to find her bearings as a journalist in the big bad city of Mumbai. The film shot as a quickie also stars Kanan Gill, Shibani Dandekar and Purab Kohli.

  4. Baahubali: The Conclusion (28 April)

What more needs to be said or written about ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’, the most awaited movie of 2017. Only director Rajamouli would dare to release his sequel during the IPL as his magnum opus is touted to be much bigger than cricket. Talking about other filmmakers, no one dares to release his film for the next two weeks. So, one shouldn’t be surprised if the attendance at the stadiums goes down from 28 April onwards.
