7 Times Actor Kharaj Mukherjee Surprised Us With His Singing Talent

If the news is to believe, the actor will appear in a never-seen before avatar in his upcoming film 'Antarleen'. In the film he has lent his voice for a much-adored Rabindra Sangeet for the first time. We have got the first hint of this musical treat in the song promo where Tagore's timeless creation 'Tumi Rebe Nirobey' found a new dimension in the singer actor's voice.

Helmed by Srijit Mukherjee,' Jaatiswar' narrates the tale of iconic folk poet Anthony Firingee or Hensman Anthony payed by Prosenjit Chatterjee. Kharaj essayed the role of Bhola Moira, the most famous and cherished kabial (minstrel) of 19th century Bengal and did playback in two 'Kabi Gaan'. Needless to say, Mukherjee played his role as an actor and singer with elan.

Directed by Utsav Mukherjee, ' Half Serious' is a satirical comedy venture where Kharaj played a pivotal role and also sang a quirky and comic number 'Bhogoban Niye Thatta' along with another maestro Paran Bandyopadhyay, who is an equally skilled actor and singer from the Bengali film industry.

'Goray Gondogol' is a light-hearted family drama where 'having a family' became huge criteria for the lead character, who found some socially ostracized people to fake as his family. Kharaj being one of them added great humor to the film and also sang a song in chorus with Rudranil Ghosh and others that set the mood for the comedy.

Being a multistarrer travel movie, 'Bye Bye Bangkok' explored Kharaj Mukherjee both as an actor and a singer. In the composition of Gautam Ghoshal & Brahmakhyapa, Kharaj lent his voice for the title track of the movie. Directed by Aniket Chattopadhyay, the comedy of errors went on to become one of the biggest hit of the year and the song also made to several charts.

Based on the story written by Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay, 'Gosaibaganer Bhoot' (The Ghost of Gosaibagan)was a harmless spirit, who only helped Burun, the little protagonist to get a good score at Maths! Kharaj starred as Damodar Kaka and lent his voice for two songs rendered by famous Bangla band 'Chandrabindu'.

Kharaj played a pivotal role in this much acclaimed children's film where we the viewers first came to know about his hidden talent. His singing talent was appreciated as much as his comic timing was lauded by the audience.
