Directed by debutant Munna and starring TV anchor Pradeep Machiraju and Tamil actress Amritha Aiyer in the lead roles, 30 Rojullo Preminchatam Ela? is one of the crazy films that should have hit the screens by now if it’s not for the COVID-19 lockdown. Already the film boasts a chartbuster Neeli Neeli Aakasam composed by Anup Rubens.
Following the current trend and the way shown by several small budget films like Krishna And His Leela and Uma Maheshwara Ugra Roopasya, there have been rumours that the film will be release on OTT. There’s even a contemplation on the part of the producers. Let’s check the positives and negatives of that.
One of the worrying factors for the film is the budget spent on it. As per our sources, the film is made on a relatively lavish budget of Rs. 3.96 Cr. - considering it’s star cast. Pradeep is one of the most loved anchors and has craze among the youth and girls, and the budget is not too big - before corona... we mean.
But with no theatrical releases in sights and the expected audience reluctance to flood the theatres in early post-Corona world, the film needs a miracle to garner the expenses back. As per the same sources which estimated the budgetary expenses of this film, 30 Rojullo Preminchatam Ela was offered about Rs. 6.71 Cr. by a popular OTT which brings a handsome profit of Rs. 2.75 Cr. Such an amount cannot be expected from theatricals in the current situations. And then there is the case of satellite rights.
So, logically, the film better be released on OTT and and depend on Pradeep’s goodwill on the small screens rather than wait for an uncertain future of theatrical release. It may well become a huge success like Bhanumathi Ramakrishna and Krishna And His Leela.
We will post complete profits and losses analysis once official confirmation about the release is out.
