Bollywood being the biggest film industry in the country, the actors have wider reach especially the heroines. So they explore the other film industries for better exposure and quick money. Over the years, many Bollywood heroines have sizzled on the Telugu silver screen however, except for a few names, not even a single heroine made a big name for herself in Tollywood. In fact, many heroines just settled for a single Telugu movie and later returned to Bollywood due to lack of opportunities. Here is a list of 17 Bollywood beauties who featured in just a solo Telugu movie.

  1. Priyanka Chopra

This top Bollywood heroine just starred in one Telugu film, opposite to Ram Charan in ‘Thoofan’ which was a remake of Bollywood film ‘Zanjeer.’ The film was a disappointment. Priyanka Chopra is currently one of the busiest actresses in Bollywood and we think she may not return to Tollywood considering her demand and her remuneration which is equal to a big Telugu hero. Interestingly, Priyanka's Telugu debut was 'Apuroopam.' But the film got shelved in production stages.

  2. Bipasha Basu and Lisa Ray

These voluptuous beauties made their Telugu debut with Mahesh Babu's ‘Takkari Donga.’ Though the film was an above average hit at box office, Bipasha could not create the impact on Telugu filmmakers. She was ignored and subsequently, she flew to Mumbai and the rest is history. The other actress who starred in the same film was Indo-Canadian beauty, Lisa Ray.

  3. Kangana Ranaut

With Prabhas’s Ek Niranjan Kangana stepped into Telugu film industry. The movie was an average grosser but Kangana Ranaut did not get much appreciation from the Telugu audience. She made a couple of statements that she would like to do more Telugu films and also down the south. Unfortunately, no maker took her statements seriously.

  4. Amrita Rao

Probably this ‘Vivah’ lady had the finest debut than any Bollywood heroine. Opposite Mahesh Babu, Amrita marked her Telugu debut with ‘Athidi.’ The movie did not get the reception as expected and accordingly Amrita did not get offers from Telugu. If the film would have scored a hit, then Amrita had good chances of becoming a top heroine.

  5. Sarah Jane Dias

This model and actress had the biggest debut in Telugu. She featured in ‘Panjaa’ with none other than Powerstar Pawan Kalyan. However, the film failed to meet the audience expectations. Sarah could not also bag any offer after this movie and she returned to Mumbai.

  6. Manisha Koirala

With Akkineni Nagarjuna in ‘Criminal,’ Manisha Koirala started off her Telugu debut on a good note. But after this movie, Manisha never appeared on Telugu screens. In the year 2008, she sizzled in an item song in the movie ‘Nagaram’ starring Jagapathi Babu and Srikanth.
