What is a great film? Which is reviewed well? Which scored more bucks than the others? Or which is a combination of both? We certainly say there should be a balancing act between both. A critically well received film which is also a box office success. Everyone have their own tastes and the lists of great films vary according to that. But there are certain movies which are common in the lists of majority of people.

Take, for example, a film like Anukokunda Oka Roju by highly acclaimed director Chandrasekhar Yeleti. After making his name known to every movie buff with Aithe, he came up with a nearly flawless thriller which still remains a fan favourite. A recognised classic. Sukumar’s generally accepted Arya (though there is a surprise here) is another such film while Puri Jagannadh’s one greatest film can be contested. But Idiot remains the starting point. Chantigadu Local is a Mantra which gave confidence and voice to many small town youngsters. But there’s a surprise here with a more evolved hero.

Even commercial films can be termed great if they follow the classic template successfully and entertainingly or redefines it. As Such Sarileru Neekevvaru is easily the greatest film delivered by Anil Ravipudi till now. Considering Telugu film directors who have at least made 5 films, here is the list of their greatest films till now. Craftsmanship in their own areas is considered as objectively as possible. Not a fan boy list ;-)
