It’ll look funny for a film industry which had given Indian Cinema its first-ever 1000 Cr. Grosser and 400-800 Cr. Share collecting film, if we say the first film to collect more than 50 Cr. Gross happened only in 2006 in the form of Pokiri and 50 Cr. Share film happened only in 2009 with Magadheera. The Southern neighbour Tamil Cinema or Kollywood had multiple 100 Cr. grossers by then. But once the barriers are broken, Telugu Cinema or Tollywood has grown on to become the face of Indian cinema for the last few years challenging the status quo of Bollywood.
Now, with Uppena becoming first Indian debutant film to collect a share of 50 Cr., we have checked and found that there are 32 such films in Telugu now. Here are the 11 Telugu actors who have (the highest number of) 50 Cr. Share films. Obviously the reigning superstar of Telugu Film Industry, Mahesh Babu is the actor with most number of such films - 6. Only 2 among the 4 senior top heroes have such distinction. Venkatesh was the first to breach the barrier with Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu. He and Mega Star Chiranjeevi have 2 films each. Balakrishna missed out with a small margin (Gautamiputra Satakarni - 49.56 Cr.).
