Born on 9 January 1965, Farah Khan hails from a film background as her father Kamran was a director and mother Menaka a child artist and sister of Honey Irani. It was but obvious that she would take up something in films. She started off as an assistant director to Mansoor Khan who offered her to choreograph 'Pehla Nasha' number in ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar’ and the rest was history.
Farah Khan has so far been a director, producer, actress and choreographer all rolled in one. She has come a long way since choreographing her first song and gone on to do over a hundred songs in over 80 Hindi films. She has acted in a few films and directed four films and won five Filmfare trophies for ‘Best Choreographer’ and one National Award.
